I heard rumors months ago, but has it been confirmed for sure that Maguire will be in this? If so, I’m looking forward to it even more than I was! (And why didn’t Marvel get Raimi to direct this one? Grr…)

I guess you've heard the latest rumors, that Green Gobbler will lead the Multiversal Sinister SIx.

Grr…) Not yet, officially. But numerous leaks “confirm” a major role for him and DeFoe’s Goblin. A far less credible rumor suggested the possibility of Raimi and Tobey doing a fourth Spidey film. I don’t believe that one, but supposedly No Way Home sets up Spider-Girl as the daughter of Tobey’s Peter and Dunst’s MJ, so maybe a Spidey 4 as a father/daughter movie?

{Spoiler Spoilington!}Peter is on the run after the identity reveal in FFH, Ned and MJ are with him since they're "accomplices" to his "crimes"
Doctor Strange, at Happy's request, finds them in a homeless shelter undercover where he brings them back to the Sanctum and tells them to lay low while he figures out a way to fix everything
In the Sanctum. Peter comes across a sort of bigger-on-the-inside prison where Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Sandman (Raimiverse) and the Lizard and Electro (TASMverse) are being held
Dafoe manages to trick Peter into thinking that their universe's Spider-Men were corrupted and killed them, and Peter needs to free them so they can save their planets
Peter frees them, and they escape into the city
Strange shows up and tears Peter a new one, explains that he had been holding them in this prison due to instability in the multiverse connected to each dimension's Oscorp experimenting with inter-dimensional travel and says Peter has a responsibility to stop them
Dafoe leads the villains to the MCU Oscorp building to steal prototype inter-dimensional technology. Peter tries to stop them, but he gets his ass kicked and thrown aside. Strange rescues him and says they'll need more help Strange and Peter travel into the Raimiverse and TASMverse, and we see how the Peters are living after the conclusion of their series. Tobey is married to MJ and they have a daughter, Andrew is a college professor.
Through their connection to their 'home universes,' the villains sense that their Spider-Men are likely on their way. They use the Oscorp device to open a one-way portal into the TASMverse, with the TASM Rhino barging through. The Sinister Six are Goblin, Ock, Sandman, the Lizard, Electro, and the Rhino.
Dafoe Osborn realizes the way to open two-way portals, and thus get back to their own universes, is to power the Osborn device with a Stark power core. Dafoe gets it, the other S6 distract the Spider-Men
The Sinister Six (minus Osborn) and Spider-Men fight at the Statue of Liberty, which Dafoe Osborn plans on using to open portals back to their worlds and to trap the Spider-Men here. Tobey is beaten way harder than the younger Spideys and ends up dying after the battle
Goblin finally shows up with the device and Ned. The device is activated, but they manage to stop him and protect Ned in a 2v1 fight with him, but he manages to 'miss' them with a pumpkin bomb and kill Ned
Tom Spider-Man nearly kills Goblin, but Andrew stops him from becoming a villain like them
The Sinister Six get locked back up in Strange's prison, Tom and Andrew attend Tobey's funeral in the Raimiverse, and seemingly part ways
Tom turns himself and is successfully defended from murder charges by Matt Murdock, but his secret identity isn't resolved
Tom shows up to Ned's grave and talks about how he feels responsible for his death, when Andrew shows back up and gives him the 'responsibility' talk. Tom realizes Ned (like Uncle Ben, Tony, and Tobey Peter) would want him to still be a hero
Final swing is both Tom and Andrew in the streets of MCU New York

It’s been confirmed that the Statue of Liberty will be holding a Cap shield in the MCu from now on. So that’s pretty cool.

I wonder if Kirsten Dunstington will show up. I like her. She reminds me of that time I wanted trailers.

It's honestly impossible to get a beat on what this film is going to be about. I get the feeling that rumors took over news surrounding the film a while back and it's going to be like nothing anyone is guessing. I'm admitting that I have no idea what this is going to be about.

If nothing else, the new version of MJ has made me appreciate the Kirsten Dunst version more. {Spoiler}Peter is on the run after the identity reveal in FFH, Ned and MJ are with him since they're "accomplices" to his "crimes"

Final swing is both Tom and Andrew in the streets of MCU New York Some spoilery thoughts on the above^ spoilers... {Spoiler}Would Peter really be dumb enough to let out the villains no matter what story they spun explaining their imprisonment? I mean, just one look at Dafoe and I would hope Peter would have the brains to be all like, "NOPE!" and be outta there quick-smart.
So, how exactly are the villains who died alive again?
The villains that actually showed some growth towards the end of the films they were in - ie. Doc Ock, Sandman and Lizard - would seem to have had their development/consciences undone if they're back to being villainous. I also can't imagine any of the villains getting on with each other long enough to be a useful supervillain team. I'd imagine all their egos would clash and I'd find it far more likely they'd betray/kill each other than anything else.
Ned dying? WHY, oh why couldn't it have been MJ instead? If it happens, I imagine a certain percentage of people are going to be royally ticked off at his death and some nasty accusations thrown at the film/the writers.
Even more of a shitstorm will be caused if Maguire's Peter is indeed killed - all those fans of original recipe Peter are going to be spitting chips, for sure.
If Garfield's Peter does indeed survive (I totally would've thought he'd be the one to get offed out of the three since so many people seemingly hated his two TASM films), then I'll be mightily pleased since he's the only one I've liked. Thoughts on the teaser trailer... Oh boy, Strange is going to get SO MUCH crap from everyone for ignoring Wong. I mean, this is going to be Star-Lord levels of effing up things. The most amusing comment under the video I've read so far is... Sony: "There, you got your trailer." Fans: "Where's Tobey?" Sony: "You’ll get him when you fix this DAMN DOOR!"

Chalice_Of_Evil I have mixed feelings on this trailer. This isn't the MCU Spider-Man 3 I wanted. I thought they had enough going for a third movie with Pete being framed for murder at the end of Far From Home, so this all feels superfluous in a way that only benefits Sony.

I thought they had enough going for a third movie with Pete being framed for murder at the end of Far From Home, so this all feels superfluous in a way that only benefits Sony. I'm afraid I'm the opposite. I never had any interested in the first two Holland SM films, which is why I waited for them to be on TV - I just recorded them and watched the recordings. I haven't really liked anything about the new SM films, but unlike most I wasn't particularly fond of the Maguire SM films either. As I've mentioned previously, the only two SM films I enjoyed were the Garfield TASM films - which I'm well aware in an 'unpopular' opinion (another 'unpopular' opinion? I just watched Far From Home on TV recently and I actually tolerated it more than Homecoming). Anyway, reading the spoilers for the film and seeing the teaser trailer prove at least some of them are true - this might be the first of the Holland SM films that actually has me half-interested. I'm even contemplating seeing it at theatre (which I never would've dreamed of before since these films have interested me so little). However, I've liked a few MCU films from the past that I felt got 'missed up' by introducing things into them that I didn't want and those ruined them for me. So, I can understand things from your perspective even if I'm not in agreement with it.

I also prefer the Amazing Spider-Man films above all the others simply because Andrew Garfield best fits my idea for Spider-Man, but I also like the MCU ones, too.
