I hate South Park. It’s crude shock value with blatant ultra smug preachiness.

I got sick of the simpsons in like 1996, my ex would watch the repeats everyday at like 500 530 600

I haven’t given South Park or Rick and Morty a try, but I can’t see myself liking either of them. Crudeness and smugness are not my kind of thing. My cousin is (was? She seems to like things a ton and then forget about them) a Rick and Morty fan and once showed me some gag about doors, and I didn’t find it funny at all.
It took me a while to get into The Simpsons, funnily enough, perhaps because I thought it was cruder than it is. But once I did get into it I loved it; the show’s best years are really brilliantly written.
Any fans of Gravity Falls here? I just discovered it recently and like it a lot; the way the jokes are written—trying not to hit the obvious punchline but to go for something unexpected and thus funnier—reminds me of The Simpsons, actually.

I know, I know… I have to get the set and start watching from the beginning.

Though Soos cracks me up, and Dipper reminds me of myself at that age (and, who am I kiddin’, now too). Apropos of Soos, this is the episode I watched last night:

Apropos of Soos, this is the episode I watched last night: Stan and Mabel for me. I am interested in the story, but like Mabel, I'm ultimately here for the laughs. That said, I also love Soos. Dipper is a good straight man, and much needed, even if that means he doesn't get as many memorable moments.

Being an artist, I hate ugly animation (ie. the sort of animation that makes me think "*I*could draw better than that!" when I see it), so there aren't many animated shows I watch. I've had no desire to check out Rick and Morty, or any number of other animated shows in the last 10 years or so. I preferred 90's animated shows like B: TAS. I watched The Simpsons until probably early 2000's, then gave up on it. I watched some Futurama...and that's about it. I can't say there's any animated show I hate because I don't even check them out if they don't look appealing to me. I know for a fact, though, that South Park would not be my cup of tea.

All just to save money, too. What I wouldn't give for another animated show where the people looked like people.

Not to turn this into a Gravity Falls tribute thread—though it’s a great show; if you haven’t seen it, see it!—but I’m at physical therapy and saw the Geico mini golf commercial, which reminded me of the Gravity Falls mini golf episode. Which in turn reminded me of when my cousin and I did mini golf as kids and thought it was the most exciting thing.
I love a lot about Gravity Falls, but one thing is that it’s good at depicting how mysterious and exciting things are during childhood.

My favorite bit is {Spoiler} Big Henry sacrificing himself like John Henry was a very dark joke I was never expecting to see on a Disney cartoon like this. The juxtaposition of twins wondering what "silly" things were happening made it perfect.

I tried the pilot today and I absolutely agree. I was surprised that a show with such a positive reputation could be so utterly classless. I couldn’t even finish the episode.

Of course, that was my experience with an overwhelming majority of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim original shows, too. Oh, yeah, speaking of CN's Adult Swim original content, that basically counts as an entry on this topic, doesn't it? Aside from Venture Brothers, Harvey Birdman, and Robot Chicken, I don't really like most CN Adult Swim original shows.

And somehow THIS series started a movement to get McDonald's to bring back the Szechuan sauce.

I like Rick and Morty, Simpsons and South Park. Although the latter two have gotten stale or so Ive heard-dont watch them religiously. Has anyone seen Solar Opposites? I remember I was ok with the pilot and there are still seasons running Oh and btw Salzackbar mini™ I think you might enjoy Rick and Morty. At least give the pilot a chance. It's nowhere near as crude as South Park
