Nintendo was able to make a NES Mini and a SNES Mini, but since the Nintendo 64 was infamously difficult to program for, they just gave up the ghost for the N64 Mini. Although I'm betting some especially deranged and determined pirates will probably make that come to fruition. Might be the first time I ever buy a dirty, contraband gaming console if they do.

I still regret passing on the NES Mini! I hope it gets another reissue. I love my SNES Mini.
As for N64 I wouldn’t mind the games just being released on the Switch for download. Or remastered. I’ve had loads of fun playing Mario 3D All Stars this past year.

I have my suspicions that the difficulties of programming for the N64 are part of what's keeping them from being released anywhere, on an N64-Mini or elsewhere.

What makes it so much harder than other consoles? I don't remember the exact details, but I've heard a lot about how the N64 was hard to work with over the years. Add to that it being one of Nintendo's lowest selling consoles, and it just isn't worth their while to port many of the games they had on that system.
